10-core or 12-core iMac: which should you buy?
| If you are… | Choose |
|---|---|
| A student, a home user, or someone who browses, studies and does office work | 10-core, 16GB (₹1,74,900) |
| A creator who edits photos and light video, or keeps many apps open | 10-core, 24GB (₹1,98,900), or 12-core, 16GB (₹1,99,900) |
| A professional with large projects or local AI work | 12-core, 24GB or 32GB |
| Someone who needs the fastest wired network or more ports | A 12-core model, which offers optional 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet and up to four Thunderbolt ports |
Memory cannot be upgraded later, so choose carefully. For most home users, the starting 16GB model is enough. The ₹24,000 step to 24GB (₹1,98,900 against ₹1,74,900) is worth it if you keep many apps open or edit big files.
